Hello! I’m Kelcie, the founder of Parents Unlocking Literacy, a program born out of my personal experiences as a mother of three and my deep passion for reading. As a parent, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power that the ability to read can have, but I’ve also experienced the challenges when things don’t come together as expected. My oldest child received special education services for reading, which gave me a deep understanding of the struggles many children face. This experience ignited a strong desire to help others and led me to pursue a journey in Special Education.

As I work toward my Master’s Degree in Special Education, I continue to grow in my understanding of how to support children with diverse learning needs. Special Education is more than just a career for me; it’s a calling. Every day, I’m inspired by the progress I see in children, and it fuels my work with Parents Unlocking Literacy.

At Parents Unlocking Literacy, my mission is to provide parents with organized, easy-to-access resources to support their child’s literacy journey. I’ve carefully compiled evidence-based materials from trusted sources dedicated to early learning development, offering practical tools and strategies for families to use at home. Through video demonstrations of proven activities, worksheets, and clear explanations of key literacy concepts, my goal is to make reading fun and engaging while helping parents build confidence in their ability to support their child’s progress.

I also understand the importance of community, which is why I’ve created a space where parents can connect, share experiences, and seek advice. By supporting one another, we can unlock the potential in every child and help them succeed.
